Mildred (Midge) Gish

GISH, MILDRED , (MIDGE) ARLENE Born July 31, 1910 in Abilene, KS and passed away January 31, 2008 in Austin, TX. She is preceded in death by 5 brothers, Wesley, Herbert, Floyd, Harold, and Milton. She is survived by 9 nieces and nephews. Midge graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1932 with a Bachelor of Science in Education in physical education. In college, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Mortar Board as well as a member of Kappa Delta Alum group in Dallas. Midge was an active officer in the United States Navy and spent 10 years in the reserve. She retired from the United States Navy with a rank of Lt. Commander. She was a physical education teacher at Tyler, TX Jr. High School and Greiner Jr. High School in Dallas, TX. Midge was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas, TX. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2008 in Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to A-Med Hospice, 7800 Shoal Creek Blvd. Suite 242 South, Austin, TX 78757.
