Fondest / Worst memories:

Fondest: Being a Majorette, football games, pep rally's, hot fudge sundaes at Kips after the football games, walking the halls between classes, having Vicki Snyder as one of my best friends.

Worst: Geometry class...I just couldn't understand why I had to memorize all of those rules...so I didn't.

What you've learned since graduation:    I have learned that friendship and laughter are two precious components of life. It is just as important to be a friend, as it is to have a friend. They go hand in hand. I have learned many things about myself over the years. I realize that in high school I must have been very shy and quiet. Not anymore! Today I would call myself more of a "leader" and less of a "follower". Life is too short, so why not laugh and have fun!

What you've been doing since graduation:    I have been married to Jim Harper for 37 years. So, to all of you guys who quit dating me after about three months...what can I say? Jim and I met at East Texas State University, fell in love and were married within a year. I have been teaching school in Garland, then in Forney. My specialty was second grade. I retired at the end of the 2006-2007 school year. Jim has also retired from the corporate world of human resources and then as a teacher assistant. We're enjoying life! Everyday can be like Saturday if we want. I have a horse and we live on some beautiful acreage. I ride with a group of ladies called the Saddlebags (yes, that is worth a laugh) every Thursday. I wouldn't call myself a cowgirl...just a city girl who likes to live in the country and ride horses.
